Placements :
VIT is famous for its placements in CS branch.
Placements of all the campuses in India are done at Vellore Branch.
Average CTC = 5.5-6 lakhs p.a
Highest CTC = 41.60 lakhs p.a
Admission Process :
VIT conducts its own entrance examination for admission in its 4 campuses.
Exam = VITEEE ( Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination )
It is a computer-based test for which centres are allotted by VIT.
The total duration of examination is 150 minutes
Total question = 125 ( physics = 35 = chemistry; mathematics = 40; english = 5, App. = 10 )
VIT does not declare any marks or percentile scored by the candidate. It only shows the rank obtained.
Due to covid-19, VITEEE was cancelled for this year and admissions were done on the basis of class 12th board results.
VIT Amravati Campus |
Fee Structure:
VIT takes admission of students via the category system.
The category system is the alternate name given to management quota.
On the basis of availability of seats and demand of different branches, VIT divides the admission process under 4 categories.
For example:
There are 10,000 seats in a specific branch and 8,000 students have applied for admission in that branch.
they will take admission of all the 8,000 students but with the different fee structure for all.
Rank | Fees (Rs) |
| |
1-2000 | X ( say ) |
2001-5000 | X + 4 lakhs |
5001-10000 | X + 8 lakhs |
Now, as you have understood the category system of admission, let me tell you the fee structure of VIT.
Category | Fees (Rs) (including hostel) |
| |
1 | 13 lakhs |
2 | 17 lakhs |
3 | 21 lakhs |
4 | 25 lakhs |
Students taking admission via category 3 and above need to pay an extra amount of Rs. 2,05,000 while admission.
Negative points about VIT:
The VITEEE rank declared by VIT 70% completely fake.
The college is very crowded and a lot of unnecessary competition for placements ( 1200 students pursuing CSE in Vellore campus )
After spending such a high amount ( category 3 & above ) you are going to land with a package of 6-7 lakhs p.a. Is it worth spending ??
Lots of Students join via the Management quota. Hence the quality of intake of Students is not uniform and highly questionable.
If you are not from CS OR IT then its hell for you as only one or two from your batch would get a job in their core field, the rest would join IT, GIANTS, for only 1.6 lakhs per year after paying a wholesome fee.
